The mother of great Indian websites-Info Edge




Info Edge, the company which runs popular websites like Naukri.com and Jeevansathi.com has acquired the businesses of TooStep Consultancy Private Limited a firm which developed a SAS platform that enables recruiters to promote jobs on social networking sites, reports Watblog.com.


Incorporated in 2007, TooStep operates an online portal for professionals to share and discover professional expertise. This acquisition would also help Info Edge to inculcate these features into its job search portal that would ease the job of recruiters.


“We expect to benefit from their experience and integrate these features into Naukri over a period of time. Toostep’s product will benefit from scaling up of its sales to Naukri’s vast client base,” says Ambarish Raghuvanshi, Director and CFO, Info Edge.


Earlier, Info Edge had invested $6.5 million in Canvera, an online photography company. It had also invested $3.5 million in fashion retail website 99lables.com and 12.86 crores in Zomato.com.

Shiksha.com

Shiksha is a Hindi word for education. Commenced in 2008, Shiksha.com caters to the educational requirements and queries of students. The portal is the brainchild of Info Edge India Ltd. Students can find information on educational institutes, programs, scholarships and admission notifications. More than 40,000 courses of numerous Indian and overseas institutes are listed on this site. Shiksha.com has 15 branches in 12 Indian cities. As of May 2012, the traffic share as per Comscore is 41%. In July 2012, mobile application of this was launched making it easily accessible to students on the move. The mobile site garnered 10% of the total response.
The site has made its presence felt in the print media.[2] The Economic Times,[3] The Hindu Business Line and[4] India Today have mentioned about user-friendly common application form.

Jeevansathi.com

Jeevansathi.com is an Indian matrimonial portal.[2] The website was bought in 2006 by Info Edge India Ltd.
The website has more than 8.5 Lac registered members. The organization has around 230 employees working in 54 offices in 37 cities spread across the country, headquartered in Noida. Jeevansathi also has 14 Matchpoint across the India.  It is a part of Bombay Stock Exchange and the growth of the company can be tracked in the annual report of Info Edge, shared on its website.

know About NH-7 webzine

NH7 is an Indian webzine which reports on indie and alternative culture in India. It was started in 2010 when Only Much Louder Entertainment and Indiecision[1] merged to form a webzine dedicated to Indian indie music and alternative culture. NH7.in is currently one of the only daily (five days a week) updated national music publications in India. The NH7 homepage changes every day, five days a week with new articles, features and reviews of bands from India and around the world. The site records 120,000 unique visitors in a month

 


Indiecision was started in 2008 as a music blog and then was absorbed by NH7. It is updated daily with coverage of the alternative music scene in India alongside coverage of stand-up comedy, graffiti, theatre, and comics in its regular features.

India Study Channel

The India Study Channel is an educational portal providing a range of web-based resources on the Indian educational system. It was established by Timmy John in July 2007. The portal offers information on educational institutions, previous year's question papers, professional answers, and job information.
This site was actually created as a research project my Timmy John and later on, was hosted and managed by his elder brother Tony John. Now all developmental issues are managed and controlled by India's renowned e-enterpreneur Tony John.
The site participates in the Google AdSense programme, sharing 90% of Adsense revenues to its users, and pays some of its contributors directly. Contributions are editorially reviewed. Currently this portal is functional with 3 Webmasters, 1 Site Coordinator and 31 highly skilled editors and a few backup and trainee editors. The editorial board is functional with 1 Managing Editor, 6 Lead Editors, and 24 dedicated Editors and all of these are working on volunteer basics.

Zapak.com is a privately held, online gaming portal, with browser games in India (services provided Globally), promoted by the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's subsidiary company Reliance Big Entertainment. Naukri.com is an Indian job search engine operating in India founded in March 1997. It publishes a monthly report called Naukri JobSpeak.
The site was established in 1997 by Info Edge (India) Ltd. Info Edge is a listed company on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange. It went public in November 2006 As of March 31, 2011 Naukri.com had a database of about 25 million registered job seekers and over 80,000 live job listings from Corporate Customers. During the Fiscal year 2010-11 Naukri.com serviced approximately 42,000 Corporate Customers, an average of about 12,000 resumes were added while about 72,000 were modified daily in the Naukri.com database in Fiscal year 2010-11.

In an interview with CNBC-TV18, the CEO & MD of Info Edge group, Hitesh Oberoi shed light on recruitments in the year 2012. According to Mr. Oberoi, there has been a dip in the recruitment for the current year and some of the companies are also planning to downsize. The sectors that have suffered the most are telecom and insurance, while IT is doing well

JUST EAT India is India’s first online food ordering, takeaway food and table booking portal. This online platform is headquartered in Bangalore, with branches in Delhi and Mumbai. JUST EAT India was founded on 26th July, 2006 as HungryBangalore.[5] Ritesh Dwivedy,[6] the founder of HungryBangalore and its present-day CEO[7] is an alumnus of IIT-Kharagpur. A closed cafeteria during a late night working session in office compelled him to search for good restaurants online, but to no avail; such information just wasn’t available online. This was how the idea of setting up an online food ordering portal came into being.
August 2008 witnessed HungryBangalore being renamed as HungryZone.[8] The objective of widening the reach of the company to several Indian cities was realised now by the first round of funding raised from the Indian Angel Network.[9]
A significant development occurred on 17th January, 2011 when HungryZone announced a partnership with Just-Eat[10] which was the leading online portal for ordering food takeaways in the UK. Just-Eat bought a 60 percent stake[11] in HungryZone, which was thereafter rechristened as JUST EAT India.

JUST EAT India can be used for ordering food online, booking a table at a particular restaurant or reading and writing reviews for restaurants. Customers can also pay online and get their food home delivered. A recent initiative taken by JUST EAT India is the launch of its mobile apps[17] on various platforms, in order to simplify the process of ordering food online.

The main purpose of the Internet and Mobile Association of India is to improve and expand the value added services pertaining to mobiles and several online services.[4]
IAMAI is the only specialized industry body in India representing the interests of online and mobile value added services industry.
